anotace
Soubor fotografií představuje pokus zdokumentovat nejstarší pražskou okrasnou školku, založenou v roce 1918. Kdysi hlavní zahradnickou školku Prahy v posledních letech odsunul do pozadí vznik a rozvoj efektivnějších zahradnictví západního střihu a la Ikea, která začala ohrožovat její existenci.Stává se tak paradoxně ve svém rozkvětu i zanikání velmi subtilní metaforou proměn, jimiž město i země prošly od pádu berlínské zdi a následného šíření západních hodnot a dravé hospodářské soutěže.
The collection of photographs represent an attempt to document Prague's oldest and most important extent nursery, which was originally founded in 1918. Once the city's primary nursery, it has become eclipsed in recent years by the establishment and development of more streamlined, western, Ikea-style nurseries, which have begun to threaten its livelihood. As such, it becomes a very subtle metaphor, which is, paradoxically, at once efflorescent and moribund, for the transformation that the city and the country have undergone since the post-wall encroachment of western values and competitive modes of production.
