This title is sold in a set of three items: a test manual, a set of diagnostic cards (templates) and the wooden diagnostic tool, in a small box.
The Tower of London (ToL) is a diagnostic test for assessing executive planning. ToL was developed by Professor Shallice in 1982 and consists of three pegs of different lengths, three beads in different colors (red, green and blue) and a set of diagnostic cards. Only a limited number of balls can be placed on each peg. The assessed person has a limited number of moves to move the balls from the initial position to one displayed on the card. ToL is used in clinical and experimental neuropsychology for assessing the processes of planning and problem solving, which are often impaired in neurological patients with damaged frontal lobes, including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, behavioral disorders related to hyperactivity, autism, obsessive-compulsive disorder and psychotic disorders. ToL is a paradigm assessing planning and one of the basic assessments of executive functions necessary for good psychodiagnostics. The manual presents rules for the administration of the test, instructions, scoring, evaluation as well as normative data about the Czech population for substantiated interpretation of results obtained from a patient. ToL is one of the basic tests available for psychologists in the healthcare system, which allows for a more accurate description of the extent and profile of a cognitive disorder.
