abstract

The last “Führerschule” of the Nazi Regime. So Called National Political Educational Institute Bohemia (Nationalpolitische Erziehungsan stalt Böhmen) in Kutná Hora, 1943–1945 The NPEA institutes became an important instrument of Nazi ideological indoctrination at the level of high schools. After 1938 several institutes were established in the newly annected or occupied territories of Europe. This was also the case of Bohemia and Moravia, or the Reich District of Sudetenland and the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. The paper offers an overview of the plans of relevant Nazi decision makers on creating the new NPEA institutes both in the Sudetenland and the Protectorate. The main part of the paper deals with the last NPEA institute of the whole Third Reich that existed one year (1944–45) in the Central Bohemian city of Kutná Hora (Kuttenberg). It is based mostly on original German sources.
