Since Richard and Judy Book Club pick The Husband's Secret went on to become a huge bestseller, there has been no stopping Liane Moriarty. She now has six best-selling novels under her belt, CBS Films have obtained the film rights to The Husband's Secret, and the film/TV rights for her latest bestseller - Big Little Lies - were bought by none other than Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman. Starring alongside Shailene Woodley, the pair are currently filming the TV adaptation in California and we cannot wait to see it!

While her latest books are certainly getting the attention they deserve, we still have a soft spot for Liane's early books. It was clear from the very beginning that Liane would be an author to watch, and her debut novel - Three Wishes - blew us away with her insight into family life and her Anne Tyler- esque ability to make the ordinary seem extraordinary.

Three Wishes follows Lyn, Cat and Gemma Kettle - a set of 33 year old triplets - who always seem to be causing mischief and attracting attention. Switching between the perspectives of the three ladies, we get to know each sister in turn as well as the whirlwind that is the trio, and although there's always laughter and drama when the sisters are together, there are some troubling issues and secrets in their lives too. Smart, witty and laugh-out-loud funny, Three Wishes is full of quirky and realistic characters, and never loses its light-hearted tone despite tackling some heavy subjects.

If you've recently discovered the brilliant Liane Moriarty then Three Wishes should definitely be on your ‘to read' list. We've got an extract from this brilliant debut to introduce you to the crazy world of Gemma, Cat and Lyn. Let us know what you think in the comments box below.
